Configuring Network Interface by command line in Dreamlinux 2.2

To set the IP address of your LAN card, say eth0, type:

root@mars:/etc/init.d# nano /etc/network/interfaces

Edit the file to include the following:

auto eth0

iface eth0 inet static

address 172.16.0.2

netmask 255.255.0.0

gateway 172.16.0.1

Save and quit. Then restart the network services.

root@mars:/etc/init.d# /etc/init.d/./networking restart

Check that the eth0 interface is configured correctly:

To set the nameserver IP address, type:

root@mars:/etc/init.d# nano /etc/resolv.conf

Edit the file to include the following line:

nameserver 192.168.1.1

Save and quit. Then restart the network services.

root@mars:/etc/init.d# /etc/init.d/./networking restart
