Finding VGA Memory Using Command Line in Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty

To find the VGA memory using command line, type:

root@ismail-laptop:/etc/X11# lspci

Look for the line that refers to the VGA. Take note the string of numbers at the left side of the VGA, and in the example above, it’s 01:05.0. Then with this number, type:

root@ismail-laptop:/etc/X11# lspci -v -s 01:05.0

In this case the VGA card is from ATI and has 256MB.
